National Planning Conference 2016
​
During the first National Planning Conference in Cebu City, five plenary sessions and four parallel sessions were conducted where discussions of SDG commitments, education policies, and programs were reviewed. The 2016 National Planning Conference was hosted by the Education Management Information System Division. The event was held in Cebu City from August 16 to 18, 2016.
The conference aims to achieve the following:

Provide updates on the state of basic education, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) commitments, and accomplishments on the implementation of education policies, programs, and projects;
​

Align the planning systems and processes across governance levels particularly on strategic and operational planning, policy development, data management, research management, and monitoring and evaluation and;
​
-
Strengthen partnerships and collaboration of DepEd Planning Officers.

In 2017, the Conference directed eight plenary sessions and four parallel sessions for the development, implementation, and monitoring of policies that has been established by the new administration. The conference aims to provide a broad understanding of the following:

DepEd’s Strategic Direction, 2017-2022 and its relationships with the Ambisyon Natin 2040 and Sustainable Development Goal 4 2030;
​

DepEd’s strategic, medium term and operational planning process;
​
-
Research and Policy Development Process;
​
-
Monitoring and Evaluation Framework, and;
​
-
New features of LIS and EBEIS.
​
In October 10-12, 2017, the Planning and Programming Division graced the second National Planning Conference in Iloilo City.

National Planning Conference 2018

In the 2018 National Planning Conference in Bacolod City held last October 17 to 19, 2018, it has allowed the participants to realize the significance of the conformity of policies and programs in all governance levels as well as evidence-based and participatory innovations and improvements to such programs. A total number of twelve (12) plenary sessions were conducted by the speakers, DepEd Execom, and partner organizations which are all grounded on the importance of building evidence-based and participatory mechanisms in planning and policy development.

National Planning Conference 2019

This year the 4th National Planning Conference will be in General Santos City on October 23 to 25, 2019. It will focus in providing quality education through thorough planning with the theme, “Masusing Pagpaplano at may Malasakit na Serbisyo tungo sa Dekalidad na Edukasyon para sa Pilipino”. This year’s conference will involve key speakers and Undersecretaries who will discuss various range of topics.
The conference will focus on the following objectives:

Understand recent policies and systems in the Department;

Prepare regional education situation and formulate regional targets;
-
Appreciate and understand the impacts and influence of technological advancements in shaping education for the future;
-
Be familiar with recent socio-economic development and its implication to education; and
-
Be familiar with accountability and integrity of public servants
